Emergency Readiness & Resilience
The Challenge
Compton Verney sought an independent review of its emergency preparedness arrangements to help assess current provision, identify potential vulnerabilities and strengthen organisational resilience.
As a museum and heritage destination caring for significant collections within a historic environment, preparedness planning needed to reflect both operational realities and collections risks.
The Approach
Caryatid undertook a review of existing preparedness arrangements, considering emergency procedures, collections priorities, staff response processes and practical readiness measures.
The project included site-based assessment, discussion with key staff and the development of recommendations designed to support future preparedness and response planning.
Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring recommendations were practical, proportionate and achievable within the context of day-to-day operations.
The Outcome
The review provided an independent assessment of current preparedness arrangements together with a series of practical recommendations to support future resilience.
The project demonstrated the value of stepping back from day-to-day operations to assess emergency readiness from a fresh perspective and identify opportunities for improvement before an incident occurs.
