CARYATID

Heritage & Culture

Practical heritage support informed by real-world experience.

Caryatid Heritage & Culture supports historic houses, estates, museums and cultural organisations in protecting heritage assets, managing risk, and creating engaging visitor experiences.

Founded by heritage specialist Kate Ballenger, Caryatid draws on more than twenty years' experience in the heritage sector, including as Head of Collections at Blenheim Palace. This practical experience informs an approach that combines heritage stewardship with an understanding of the operational realities facing historic properties today.

Services include:

• Emergency preparedness and resilience reviews
• Collections care and conservation support
• Exhibitions and interpretation
• Filming preparedness and heritage protection
• Heritage operations and project support

Historic places are rarely static. They welcome visitors, host events, support commercial activity and care for significant collections, often with limited resources and small teams. Caryatid works alongside organisations to provide practical, proportionate solutions that protect heritage while supporting day-to-day operations.

Whether supporting a specific project or providing an independent perspective, the focus is always on helping heritage organisations remain resilient, sustainable and welcoming.
